What does secretarial work involve?

  A secretary’s main duty is to provide administrative support to managers or senior staff members. His or her tasks and responsibilities may include the following:

  • Managing electronic and paper filing systems.
  • Managing diaries and making appointments.
  • Booking meeting venues and making travel arrangements.

Secretaries spend most of their time at their desks. They usually work normal office hours, but may be required to work overtime on occasion.
