Jealous is studying HIV/AIDS Management following the loss of numerous family members to this illness. His eventual aim is to earn an Honours Degree in HIV/AIDS Management or Social Behaviour, and to become one of the best counsellors helping the community to deal with the effects of this illness, as well as helping community members to cope with bereavement.
So far, he has had to overcome the challenges of losing both parents, struggling to find employment due to a lack of education, and bearing the burden of being the breadwinner in the family.
To other students, he says the following: "Take charge of your life, education is a great weapon to conquer poverty. Empowering myself involves making myself the authority on what holds true for me, what I want to do and how I will do it."

Bulelani is currently studying Financial Management because it complements his previous course in Supply Chain Management, and because he wants to fill a vital skills gap that exists both in SA and globally. His plan for the future is to earn a promotion or to secure a new job that increases his responsibilities and allows him to grow. So far, he has had to overcome the challenge of not having studied accounting or business in high school, as well as the challenge of having to pay for his studies while providing for his family since the passing of his grandmother.
To other students, he says the following: "Never allow your poor home background and your poor financial well-being [to] hold you from studying, and don’t let your past determine your future. Never permit your obstacles to narrow your life options."
