For ICB students:

  • You will be assessed through a combination of assignments (which make up your portfolio of evidence – PoE) and summative assessments (exams). You will receive your portfolio of evidence for each subject directly from the ICB. Please note that you will only receive the PoE for a specific subject once you have registered for the assessment for that subject.
  • To register for your assessments, you need to sign up as a student on the ICB Learner Portal: https://www.secureicb.co.za/learner/
  • You will need to pay additional exam fees directly to the ICB when you register for your assessments.
  • You will be required to hand in your PoE when you go to write your summative assessments (formal exams).

When and where are the exams (summative assessments) held?

  • The summative assessments are held quarterly (February, May, August, November) at ICB-approved assessment venues around the country.
  • The ICB will inform you of your exam venue when you register for your exams.

How will you get your exam results?

  • Once you have been found ‘competent’ in all the subjects that form part of your qualification, you will receive an ICB Certificate from the ICB within 2 months of the results being released. After 3 or more months, you will also receive a FASSET certificate.
  • If you are found to be ‘not yet competent’ in your summative assessment, you may in some circumstances be given an opportunity to do a re-assessment.

For ETDP SETA (Assessor and Moderator) students:
